Sbruffi Lovers - Murano glass

This exquisite Murano glass sculpture depicts two lovers in an embrace, made of massello Murano glass. It embodies true love and the unbreakable bond between two souls, fused together by fire and set forever in crystal.

The vibrant colors come from the Sciafae technique, which translated from Venetian stands for “slapped.” This distinctive method involves extreme blowing and the application of thin layers of colored glass to the bolo. The stained glass is carefully placed on the crystal bole at the perfect temperature. Unlike the “sbruffi” technique, Sciafae maintains the colored layers on the surface, giving the sculpture a textured finish.
